High Plain Elementary
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
Andover, Massachusetts

The PTO organizes several events throughout the school year to bring families together.  This year, we have planned several family nights including a back to school pizza party, a Halloween event, game nights, sports outings, and an ice cream social.  Other key events include a father-daughter dance, a mother-son night, an afternoon of roller skating, a parent’s night out, and two book fairs.

The PTO’s Academic Cultural Enrichment (ACE) committee meets with teachers to identify and implement programs that will enhance the curriculum.  Past programs have included presentations in the areas of science, nature, art, history, meteorology and literature.  In addition to these programs, we support the Environmental Learning for the Future (ELF) program, field trips, teacher workshops, library books, playground equipment, and funds to prepare the classrooms for each school year.

The PTO posts a monthly newsletter.  Its purpose is to inform families of school and PTO events and to report on educational news affecting our school and community.   This information is available on the school website or in hard copy, by request.  Executive Board and Committee Chair contact information is also found on the website.  Bimonthly e-mail blasts, containing details of upcoming activities and timely school news reports, are also distributed.
