ELF
Environmental Learning for the Future (ELF) is a hands-on nature program sponsored in part by the PTO. Parent volunteers are trained in specific nature lessons and in turn bring these lessons to individual classrooms. The volunteers use grade- appropriate means of presenting this material to the students such as puppet shows, outdoor adventures, books, slides, experiments and more. The purpose of ELF is to enrich the science and nature curriculum by using parents as teachers.
This years topic include:
October 15 - Forest Floor
January 14th - Animals in Winter
March 18th - White-tailed Deer
Volunteer training sessions are held from 9:00am-11:00am in the school cafeteria. If you are interested in getting involved or just want to learn more, please contact Deanna Blatman or Linda Barbaro.
